Storage Building Sheds its Old Image

Although things have always changed quickly, in the past few
years, the pace has increased so significantly that "new"
sayings are being invented every day. All of a sudden, "40
is the new 20," "60 is the new 40," and "80 is the new 60."
Also, "bald is the new hairy," "fat is the new thin,"
"geeky is the new cool," and "left is the new right." As
annoying as these sayings may be, they shed light on a "new"
collective consciousness that's more flexible, and less
inclined to cling to out-dated "rules" that have had little
or no meaning for years ~ or centuries.

This can be a good thing, because it's a sign of the erosion
of stubborn stereotypes that have been inhibitive, as well
as prohibitive, sometimes, to the detriment of individual
expression and achievement. More possibilities are opening
up, and every day, you hear new "new" sayings. Sometimes,
they make sense; sometimes, they make you shake your head.
This week alone, the expressions, "up is the new down," "on
is the new off," "wine is the new beer," and "pepper is the
new salt" have appeared in print. Okay.

So, what do you get out of this? Nothing, but a chance to
do whatever you've always dreamed of, and pass it off as
trendy. If anyone questions you, just tell him that it's
the hottest new thing, look incredulous that he could be so
far behind the times as not to have heard of it, and watch
how quickly he becomes hip. Then, simply go back to your
shed, and work on some more new ideas. What? You haven't
heard that the shed is the new all-purpose room? Oh, come
on. Everybody knows that!

Forget the image of the old, crumbling backyard shed, with
the leaky roof, and the uneven doors being scarcely held
closed by a rusty latch and padlock. If that's what you're
picturing, then you probably think that sheds are used only
for storing lawn mowers, tools, rakes, shovels, fertilizer,
rock salt, and pool cleaning items. Not so! Today's sheds
are available with so many creature comforts, that people
are getting comfortable in them as well.

Actually, there are dozens of words that you can use to
finish the "new" shed saying. Try it ~ it's fun! For
example, you could say that the shed is the new workspace,
home office, home gym, weight room, laundry room, artist's
studio, playhouse, pottery room, potting hut, hobby room,
supply room, or greenhouse, just to name a few. The only
thing that's more fun than playing the "Shed Game" is
choosing a spectacular new shed from GazeboCreations.com,
where you can select a pre-designed shed, or customize one
in four easy steps.
